2010 Fish of the Year
Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association (LOWA)
Announces Fish of the Year Winners for the year 2010
 
Every year LOWA honors the anglers voted by the LOWA Fish Records Committee to have had the most significant catch in the previous year in both Rod & Reel and Fly Fishing Divisions.
 
Two Louisiana anglers were presented with the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association’s prestigious Fish of the Year Awards for the year 2010 at the LOWA annual convention in Houma, August 5-6, 2011.
 
Winners for the 2010 LOWA Fish of Year are:
 
Corey Crochet of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana received the 2010 Fish of the Year award in the Rod & Reel Division for his catch and new 1st place record for a 6.81lb White Bass (Marone chrysops). He caught his new record on the Amite River in August of 2010.  Corey's White Bass was also an IGFA World Record as well.
 
Bennett P. deBoisblanc of New Orleans, was awarded the 2010 Fly Fishing Division award for his feat of landing a new 1st place, 8.17lb Sheepshead near Lake Athanasio (MRGO) in March of 2010.
